Norma Foster is currently the President and Technical Director of Canada JKF Wado Kai (CZWKA), which was established in 1998. She is currently ranked JKF Wado Kai 6th Dan, JKF 4th Dan and JKA 3rd Dan, and is a JKF Wado Kai certified 2 kyu instructor and 2 kyu examiner as well as an NCCP Level 3 coach (Canada).

Having achieved prominence as a national champion in individual kata, team kata, individual kumite and team kumite events, Norma was a member of the National team from 1983- 1988 and represented Canada internationally before moving to Japan where she studied Wado Ryu under the guidance of world renowned instructors, Mr. Toru Arakawa and Dr. Hideho Takagi for 8 years.

In 1990 she became the first woman in the world to be qualified as an international Judge (WUKO) and in 2000 became the first female WKF Referee in the world. In 2002 she was the first woman to be appointed to the WKF Referee Council, upon which she served for 4 years. 

Norma returned to Canada in 1997, established a new club, and started working towards building CZWKA as a credible national organization.  Through consistent activities in CZWKA, which presently has clubs in 5 provinces, she has touched numerous people from all walks of life with a clear, rational teaching style, sense of humour and unique personality.

She is one of the premiere karate practitioners in the world today, and we are very happy to welcome her once again to the city of Montreal.
