Montreal native Anthony Bhagwandin is the administrator and Chief Instructor of Karate Esprit. Anthony started his martial arts career in Judo at the age of 9 and then a karate club opened up the following year near his home and he has never looked back. Anthony joined the JKF Wado Kai club, Karate Esprit (then Montreal Wado-Kai), in 1996, having spent a summer there the year before. By the year 2000, Anthony had achieved JKF Wado Kai 1st Dan and was running the club.

Since then, he has achieved JKF Wado Kai 3rd Dan, Wado instructor certification, NCCP (Canada) coaching certification and fought his way to a place on team Quebec, for which he medalled at the 2006 National Championships. A programmer by profession, Anthony has also served on the Board of Directors of Canada JKF Wado Kai (2002 - 2006) and Karate Quebec (2006).

Interested in fitness and in current developments in coaching and sport science, he brings loads of enthusiasm, high energy and a quirky sense of humour to every class he teaches.
