Serendipity, a chance meeting…

Summer Camp ‘09 Bursary Recipients

The organizing committee has reviewed all of the applications for the Summer Camp ’09 bursaries. We would like to share with you the results of our decision.

The organizing committee has decided on the following:

1. Jeremy Durelle, of Shuhari New Brunswick, will be awarded a full bursary.

2. Aaron Granger, of Shuhari New Brunswick, will be awarded a full bursary.

3. Alan Chan, of Karaté Esprit, will be awarded a partial bursary.

4. Pim Sanders, of Karaté Esprit, will be awarded a partial bursary.

All four of these students have been chosen because they have shown dedication and a desire to learn over the years. From their applications, it is clear that they are in need of financial assistance. In addition, we are certain that they all have the potential to become a crucial part of Wado’s future here in Canada.

Pim and Alan should be commended. They suffered from a bias against their club, being only notified of the bursaries on April 6 and 7, respectively. Yet, they managed to make the April 8 deadline.

Unfortunately, we only had a limited number of bursaries at our disposal and we would like to thank all of those who applied. We would also like to thank the Canadian ZenKuRen Wado Karate Association for underwriting this bursary program.

Congratulations to those who are receiving a bursary. We look forward to seeing all of you at the camp!

Regards,

Anthony, Craig, Erdem, Lina and Sam
