CZWKA
The CZWKA is the Official Country Headquarters of the JKF Wado-Kai in Canada.
The C.Z.W.K.A. was established at the request of the Directors of the JKF Wado Kai Headquarters in Tokyo, for an authentic, National Wado Kai organization that is directly affiliated with JKF Wado Kai Headquarters and with Karate Canada.
The Association has steadily grown, providing the membership with quality technical instruction, training and competitive opportunities in Canada, the U.S.A. and Japan. Canadian ZenKuRen Wado Karate Association (CZWKA) is a non-profit corporation that was federally registered in Ottawa by letters patent in 1996 by founding directors, Ms. Norma Foster (Vancouver, BC), Mr. Roger Bartosh (Montreal, QC), Mr. Flavio Iammarino (Niagara Falls, ON) and Mr. Barry Welch (Calgary, AB).
As such, it is the only association recognized by the JKF Wado-Kai. Our members are able to attempt examinations for Dan (black belt) grades, Instructor certifications, and Referee certifications. In addition, practical examinations for Dan grades can happen in Canada, up to a limit of fifth (5) Dan.
The CZWKA also enjoys a good relationship with other karate associations, athletes, and coaches, and this enables its' members to enjoy a high quality of technical leadership and training. Made up of people from one end of Canada to the next, of different races, backgrounds, gender, and creeds, all who wish to study karate are welcome to join us.
